Exile is a single vineyard wine, whereas Émigré is the opposite in that it comes from an array of vineyards across the Barossa.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eTasting Notes\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDeep maroon to bright crimson. A vibrant Barossa blend with sweet raspberry fruit, ripe plums with subtle fine-grained oak tannins and cassis all feature to create an alluring bouquet. A full bodied wine with highly concentrated fruit flavour that is rounded, juicy and balanced, with ripe dark fruits, plums, cassis and a touch of spicy pepper, the oak is integrated perfectly with fruit to create complexity on the palate, silky smooth finish with a rounded edge from tannin and natural fruit acid giving length.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThe Winemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eÉmigré from the outstanding 2017 vintage is made up of a blend of varieties. Sourced from a single vineyard for the first time in its history high in the Western Ridge of Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley. Like Exile the vines are pruned severely and receive two runs of green harvesting producing less than 3 tonne to the acre. Émigré grapes are then hand picked and transferred to the winery. The wine receives extreme cold maceration and in a first we co-fermented varieties to ensure complete integration, which has worked amazingly.
