The Colonial Estate Emissaire Clare Valley Riesling 2026 is a vibrant cool-climate Riesling that captures the purity, precision and remarkable ageing potential for which the Clare Valley is internationally renowned. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this elegant release showcases pristine fruit, bright natural acidity and exceptional varietal expression, making it equally rewarding to enjoy young or cellar for years to come.

The grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness following extensive berry tasting to achieve the perfect balance between flavour intensity and natural acidity. Picked during the cool of the night to preserve freshness, the fruit was gently crushed before free-run juice was separated with minimal skin contact. After careful clarification, the juice underwent a slow, cool fermentation between 12–15°C using selected yeast strains to enhance the wine's delicate citrus and floral aromatics. Bottled while youthful to retain maximum freshness, the result is a Riesling of outstanding purity and longevity.

In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant pale green-straw colour. The bouquet is fragrant and refined, opening with delicate white blossoms, zesty lemon and lime, sherbet and subtle hints of crisp Nashi pear. The palate is tightly focused and beautifully linear, delivering concentrated citrus juice layered with chalky minerality and a delicate talc-like texture. Bright, natural acidity provides exceptional precision and length, finishing crisp, dry and refreshingly clean.
